Craft fair organisers Laura Bowen and Sarah Miller took their successful business after eight years of organising craft fairs, to a new design agency based in Narberth and what emerged was “The Original Pig Street Craft Collective” a name which related to the history of Narberth as a market town, and to the fact that Laura and Sarah organised the original craft fairs since 2002 in The Queens Hall, Narberth.
Research going back to 1688, showed the granting of a royal charter from James II, when Narberth officially became a market town. Drovers regularly brought livestock to Narberth and at one time St. James Street was called "Sheep Street" and the High Street was known as "Pig Market Street". Hence, The Original Pig Street Craft Collective was born.
This interesting, unusual name helps to set Laura and Sarah’s unique craft fairs away from the rest, with a true identity that people remember.
